Tracing the powerful musical impact of saxophone icons Kenny Garrett and Branford Marsalis, the Lars Haake Quintet brings a fresh take on contemporary bop to the stage of Zinc Bar. From high energy combustions to sensitive dark ballads, the music draws in the audience with intensity and intimacy.

German-born alto- and soprano saxophonist Lars Haake, who has appeared and recorded amongst others with the greats Kenwood Dennard, Hiram Bullock, and James Genus, studied saxophone with Vincent Herring and Bill Evans.

Tonight he presents music from his upcoming album ” Next” and features an all-star band:
