“David Hazeltine is for sure the brightest star on the jazz piano horizon. His style has a deep-seated commitment to jazz history while communicating a wealth of ‘today’ ideas.”

—Cedar Walton

Join us on Tuesday, January 24th for a performance by acclaimed jazz pianist David Hazeltine and his formidable trio at Zinc. He is supported by Neal Miner on bass and Pete Van Nostrand on drums.

David Hazeltine is a master of all major musical skills, including improvisation, technique, accompaniment, arranging, and composition. He is one of the most recorded contemporary jazz pianists, with 35 CDs as a leader and hundreds more as a sideman on various major labels globally. A native of Milwaukee, Hazeltine began playing in clubs as a preteen and caught the attention and respect of legends like Sonny Stitt and Chet Baker, who encouraged him to move to New York City in 1992.
